On an SAS mission to take out terrorists in Afghanistan, Kingsy (Andy King) is badly injured and is transported back in time to Africa in 1828 when the great Zulu chief, Shaka, had ruthlessly created the most formidable army of the time with iron discipline but also the year in which Shaka will be assassinated by his half-brothers, one of whom seizes the Zulu throne.Aided by the black warrior who had guided him off the Afghan mountain, Kingsy rescues from Shaka the African Queen, Mantatisi thus arousing Shakas implacable enmity. With the Queen is a white hunter, Andrew King an earlier incarnation of Kingsy himself. Pursued by Shakas Zulus, Kingsy and the Queen seek allies among warrior priests and other tribes. They succeed only to find that one of their allies is a traitor, in league with Shaka. Along the way, Kingsy has to prove himself as a warrior not with his HKMP5 sub-machine gun but with spear and shield or bow and arrow, and in unarmed combat. Facing regiments of Shakas Zulus, Kingsy learns who is the traitor. In killing him, Kingsy almost loses his life and loses his great love, Queen Mantatisi. It is then that he finds himself back on the mountainside in Afghanistan, not sure whether he has been living, what was once his past, or whether he has been hallucinating as a result of his injuries.
