Synopsis

In the cloud-washed airspace between the cornfields of Illinois and blue infinity, a man puts his faith in the propeller of his biplane. For disillusioned writer and itinerant barnstormer Richard Bach, belief is as real as a full tank of gas and sparks firing in the cylinders...until he meets Donald Shimoda--former mechanic and self-described messiah who can make wrenches fly and Richard's imagination soar....

In Illusions, the unforgettable follow-up to his phenomenal bestseller Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Richard Bach takes to the air to discover the ageless truths that give our souls wings: that people don't need airplanes to soar...that even the darkest clouds have meaning once we lift ourselves above them... and that messiahs can be found in the unlikeliest places--like hay fields, one-traffic-light midwestern towns, and most of all, deep within ourselves.

My favorite book in the universe

This book is my personal bible, it moves me to no end and I keep a copy of it on me wherever I go... which led to me losing several copies of it, but I just know it was never truly lost but rather meant to be found by someone who needed to read it too. It is more than a book. It is a mindset, a poem, it is a ode to the human soul, an inspiration, something to learn from and teach from... Richard Bach, guide extraordinaire. I personally believe it to have a special power: it seems to find its way to people who need its messages. I recommend opening it at random pages, constantly, after you finished reading it. It is what the friend who recommended it to me was doing and I'm doing it too and, somehow, the words alway find an echo within.

    Illusions by Richard Bach

Had read this some years ago, prompted to do so again after catching site of the book at a friends house, downloaded it when I got home and devoured it. Always a great read , never lets you down, just as uplifting and inspiring as it was the first time I picked it up.

    Enjoyable.

This was my 2nd Richard Bach book, a couple of sentences have stuck in my head, not sure if I like the ending, but the journey was fun :) The themes were very similar to that of his "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", so if you enjiyed that, then you would enjoy this as well.

    Interesting

Definetly not what I expected but very imaginitive , quirky and humorous. I really enjoyed this. Was recommended by a friend. I enjoyed the idea of stepping away from being the Messiah
