Synopsis

Charlie Asher is a pretty normal guy with a normal life, married to a bright and pretty woman who actually loves him for his normalcy. They're even about to have their first child. Yes, Charlie's doing okay—until people start dropping dead around him, and everywhere he goes a dark presence whispers to him from under the streets. Charlie Asher, it seems, has been recruited for a new position: as Death.

It's a dirty job. But, hey! Somebody's gotta do it.

My favourite humour author. I honestly laugh out loud at the characters and the funny situations they are put in.

    Good book, but unnecessarily vulgar.

Book was good but some of the story line went to am overtly vulgar place. Seemed as though the author was trying too hard to be edgy

    So much fun

This story was so much fun and delightfully touching. I laughed and giggled my way through Charlie's adventures as death and hilarious efforts at child-wangling.

    Moore Please!

I love me some Christopher Moore! What I love about a Moore story are the guaranteed laughs, heaping helpings of insanity, and too many lol moments to count. It always feels like I'm saying goodbye to a close friend when the story is over. This was no different. A Dirty Job is an immersive experience filled with wonderful characters that not only made me smile, cringe, and want to hurl, but also pulled on my heart strings as I frantically turned the pages all the way to the end. Anyway, 5 stars, and two enthusiastic thumbs way up there!
