According to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) documents, over 4000 Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) were found, secured, and destroyed in Iraq from 2003 to 2009. This information was originally classified to protect US and allied forces, as well as the Iraqi people. FOIA documentation provided in the appendices of this work confirms that "yellow cake" was also discovered and secured in Iraq during that same period of time. There was significant discourse in the media about yellow cake, and whether or not Iraq had obtained that substance, prior to the commencement of Operation Iraqi Freedom. This included an extensive investigation into the matter with most of the media asserting Iraq did not possess "yellow cake" - which is now proven to be an inaccurate assessment. Sufficient quantities of WMDs were found, secured, and destroyed to kill as many as 5 million people.
