Synopsis

Valperga (1823) by Mary Shelley is a historic novel about the adventures of Castruccio Castracani, a 14th-century Italian prince, captain, and tyrant. He attacks the Valpegra fortress, which is ruled by the Countess Euthanasia, whom he loves.
