A terrifying psychological thriller that keeps you on your toes throughout the entire book. It makes us question about how much endurance and determination a hundred boys have while walking on a narrow, continuous road until only one remains. How far would someone go to 'win', and where is the breaking point?

For all modern tales of dystopian games, in some future that manages to look very much like today, there was first this tale. For me, anyway. Every new version of the tale has been held against The Long Walk for measurement. Its bleary eyed vision takes over where The Lottery left off. Fills in the blanks, while revealing nothing. This is Bachman at his best. Before his untimely death.
