Great first book

I have been reading James Rollins' Sigma Force books for a few years now but never say down to read anything before Sandstorm. When he hinted that 6th Extinction would relate to Subterranean it felt like time to start reading the early books. Especially since I finally have caught up in the Sigma books. The book was very interesting because it was a heat mix of science fiction and thriller. For me, it was interesting to see the elements that appear throughout the Sigma series in the early stages in this book. While less science based than the Sigma books it is still very believable and a very good read.
