I had read reviews of the book. And I appreciate the sentiments expressed but I have to disagree. Readers have complained that the female protagonist is childish and unrealistic because of her intransigence but the reality is that this is the nature of the character and I find the character entirely plausible. That's the nature of the character the author is writing and we can either agree with it or disagree with it but it's entirely I believe what she intended. Her intent was to provide us with some background story and to provide us with some details regarding the environment in which the canine breeds live and she has done so surprisingly well. So in conclusion I have to disagree with those who thought the story was boring or the character implausible or the character unsympathetic I think Laura Leigh has achieved her intent and done so well. I look forward to her next novel
