Fantastic Medieval/contemporary story!
July 11th, 2015
Anne and Neil have lost their way, broken up, and they are trying to see if they can renew their relationship. They decide to go on holiday to a mountain chalet to figure things out. Unfortunately, they never make it. Something, or someone calls to Anne in the forest they must hike through to get to their destination. This story was a wonderful read! Not light, but thought provoking and well written. The author brings us a story of romance set in 2 different time periods, modern day, and the medieval times. But it's not a traditional romance. It is steeped in mystery and quite a bit of the paranormal. You see, Anne has a second site. The story unfolds with flashes from the past and the present in a way that is easy to follow and understand the connection between the two time periods. There was so much to infer, which I really appreciate! I like to use my imagination and try to figure out the ending, but I was completely surprised by the last paragraph of the book! There is some connection between the people in the past and the people in the modern day. I don't wish to spoil the story so I will say no more about it. But I must add that another reviewer said that Neils part was unbelievable, I don't agree. When evil is present, anything is possible! Absolutely looking forward to a sequel! There are things left unsaid that I would truly love to read! I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I give this book 4 stars!
