This is the first book by Mike LaDue, who writes outdoor themed articles for his local paper the, ‘Thousand Island Sun.’ Evident in this writing, he has a passion for the outdoors and the sanctuary it provides him and its inhabitants. He writes with abundant detail, describing events while taking you the reader, through his memories. He reminds us of the most minuet details, ones most of us overlook, those that have enriched his life. He makes his home on the shores of the St. Lawrence River in upstate New York, just a stones throw from Canada. There he is able to enjoy the same pursuits he did as a young boy, hunting, fishing and photographing nature year round. After walking away from a 29-year career in manufacturing, he took advantage of his free time to begin writing. Life by the St. Lawrence has given him the inspiration to see and capture his surroundings from days gone by. He wrote this book for his Grandson, a boy he seldom gets to see. It is his way of sharing with him a different time and place. The place from where his Grandfather emerged and a place his grandson can return to at any time.
