The Apprenticeship is Over-Now the Real Test has Begun.

When word that Yelena is a Soulfinder-able to capture and release souls-spreads like wildfire, people grow uneasy. Already Yelena's unusual abilities and past have set her apart. As the Council debates Yelena's fate, she receives a disturbing message: a plot is rising against her homeland, led by a murderous sorcerer she has defeated before….

Honor sets Yelena on a path that will test the limits of her skills, and the hope of reuniting with her beloved spurs her onward. Her journey is fraught with allies, enemies, lovers and would-be assassins, each of questionable loyalty. Yelena will have but one chance to prove herself-and save the land she holds dear.

Fire Study

I raved about the first two novels in this trilogy-soon-to-be-series, but can I just say Fire Study was a huge...blah! I can't even say it was a disappointment, it was more like a WTF? I didn't even know what was going on half the time and, truthfully, I don't want to know. I can't figure out specifically what bothered me, but something definitely did. Maybe it's that nothing important or interesting happens for like 3/4 of the novel, then there's this final half-a** showdown and then some Valek-loving, then it ends. Ta-da! I admit, I loved the last line: "Locked tight together, we owned a piece of the sky." It's sweet, but that's the ONLY part I LOVED. The rest was so-so to boring. I'm not saying that the novel was horrible, but it wasn't anywhere near as good as the first two. Sort of like Mockingjay, but probably worse. If you've read Poison Study and Magic Study, I suggest you read this to finish off the trilogy, but don't get your hopes up for some mind-blowing finale. I won't be reading any further books in this series.
