Creativity, Incorporated for Pixar & Disney
This book provides a chronological narrative of the humble beginning of Pixar from its early days association with LucasFilm, near liquidation until Steve Jobs' investment in the firm, eventual sale to Disney and how the major stakeholders eventually agreed for Pixar Animation to be a separate entity from Disney Animation even though both entities will continue to work together under the Disney brand. Several principles about creativity have been reinforced throughout this book through examples of the animations that have been produced by Pixar over the years such as Toy Story, Up!, A Bug's Life, Finding Nemo etc. and also how the key executives such as John Lasseter, Ed Catmull, Brad Bird, Andrew Stanton, Pete Ulrich are allowed to be immersed in a culture of creativity and storytelling and given a free reign to express themselves, resulting in the production of one top animation hit after another.by Raymond Tan on August 17, 2015
