From bestselling, Printz Award-winning author Libba Bray, the story of a plane of beauty pageant contestants that crashes on a desert island. Teen beauty queens. A "Lost"-like island. Mysteries and dangers. No access to emall. And the spirit of fierce, feral competition that lives underground in girls, a savage brutality that can only be revealed by a journey into the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Oh, the horror, the horror! Only funnier. With evening gowns. And a body count.

    Ferociously Witty, a Necessary Tale

This is, without a doubt, my favorite book of all time, and as an avid reader myself, that it not something to be taken lightly. This book is an incredible tale of what it means to be a woman, a friend, and a rebel, and is filled with clever quips and piercing tales from the goddess of writing that IS Libba Bray. This book is everything that a Young Adult novel should be. An electrifying tale of whimsical desperation, with unsubtle undertones of social rebellion and humorous intermissions from the looming 'Corporation,' this novel spans genres and culminates in a perfect blend of witty shenanigans and biting humor. It's a tantalizing look at the consumerism rife in America today, and is an absolutely delectable read by all accounts. In short, a gaggle of pageant contestants must learn to survive both the elements and each other while stranded on a deserted island. It's absolutely gorgeous, not to mention crazy funny and absolutely essential. This book has it all--rogue pirates, girl power, unapologetic social commentary, secret government plots, coffee, a good dollop of social issues, and humor galore. One of the best "feminist" books you're likely to ever read, like, ever.
