He's working for the DEA undercover in an attempt to incriminate Tony Cardo, a clinically insane drug lord. But all Robicheaux's really got is revenge on the mind. And he'll only be satisfied when the killers who upended his life have been brought to justice.

James Burke is an amazing writer. To say he writes crime novels minimizes his work . He is a lucid and visceral writer who writes of the vast drama of humanity and Louisianna. He is a poet with a story to tell and a sad anticipation of how the human psyche will continue to bring us down by lifting us up.
