When a stalker ratchets up his attempts to get to her, cable sex talk show host Morgan O'Malley turns to Jack Cole-a self-proclaimed dominant- for help. Though Jack is a bodyguard, Morgan feels anything but safe in his presence. Because slowly and seductively, Jack is bringing her deepest fantasies to the surface. And when he bends her to his will, what's more shocking than her surrender is how much she enjoys it and how she starts to crave his masterful touch. A willing player in Jack's games, Morgan knows that his motives aren't pure. But she has no idea how personal they are.

I really hate to criticize an author so badly but this one really deserves it. First of all who says "bodacious body" anymore? Right there this story's alpha male fell a notch on my hot meter. Second this book is full of contradictions and unbelievable situations. Lastly this book is more of a D/s handbook with a side of storyline than it is a novel. I chose to started reading it because of the back cover summary but the suspense/mystery it promised was only one eighth of the whole book. I chose to finish reading the book after the first few chapters ONLY because I everyone deserves the benifit of the doubt that the story might get better and make it worth your while but alas this book did not. Furthermore what alpha male so readily, willingly, and easily decides to express and share his feeling with everyone?

I'd say this review contains a spoiler alert but that would suggest there is is a believable plot to spoil. I've learned my lesson, this author writes nothing that appeals to me. I will not be lured in by the high ratings any longer, clearly I'm looking for something in a story that the fans of Ms Black's stories are not. I'd like to see a plot that has at least a thread of credibility, dialogue that I don't have to be in a drug induced haze to believe, female characters that have at least a bit of independent will and who aren't so overcome by a man's powerful essence that they don't overlook: betrayal, lies, abuse and manipulation. After being kidnapped, betrayed, tied up and abandoned to another man we are asked to believe that a simple booze-soaked apology is all that it takes to win back a woman's heart? How can I get my money back?
