According to The Waiter, eighty percent of customers are nice people just looking for something to eat. The remaining twenty percent, however, are socially maladjusted psychopaths. Waiter Rant offers the server's unique point of view, replete with tales of customer stupidity, arrogant misbehavior, and unseen bits of human grace transpiring in the most unlikely places. Through outrageous stories, The Waiter reveals the secrets to getting good service, proper tipping etiquette, and how to keep him from spitting in your food. The Waiter also shares his ongoing struggle, at age thirty-eight, to figure out if he can finally leave the first job at which he's truly thrived.

    Restuarant Gossip

I eat out a lot at both high and low end restaurants and this book did open my eyes a little. I have never waited so I am not familiar with a lot of the behind the scenes. One problem I had with this book is that there is some repetition and little too much whining. The author has chosen this profession so some of the whining is out of place. I often wondered why he chose to work at some of these places. The one takeaway is please treat your waiter with respect and tip well.

Wait staff - behind the scenes expose!

An entertaining and enlightening learning experience that every restaurant goer should read. I found the book the best non-fiction read, I have read in the last year. A learning experience on one hand, hilarious on another and humanely touching in many respects. A fascinating view on an industry most of us use.
