Driving!

Stephen King is my favorite author! His stories are so dark, thrilling and interesting, that I can't put his works of fascination down! When I read, I get this sort of DRIVE going, and I go spiraling into the spaces of Stephens brain! Like I said, he IS my favorite!

Classic King
June 4th, 2014
Rereading and finished this great horror classic and now on to the long awaited (by me) sequel called Dr. Sleep. Danny Torrence is all grown with his own family and the spirits of Overlook come calling again. This should be good eh!

I had actually not seen the movie and was happy to have read the book. Some long winded Steven Kingish chapters but really good. No matter the hotel, I will never stay in room 217....

Fantastic
March 5th, 2014
One of my many favourites of Stephen King's works. A psychological thrill ride guided by supernatural machinations that will cause you jump at things that bump in the night and then chuckle at how silly you are. This book is an essential King masterpiece. Just turn off the lights, tap on the icon and Shine on.

Classic Stephen King; the novel that got me hooked on his writing over 30 years ago. Re-reading it as an adult, it still holds up, packs a punch...and then some.

Really good book. For those who have only seen the movie, the book is a must read. Kubrick's masterpiece is certainly more scary than King's novel, but the book has so much more going on and makes for a fascinating read.

Just the best! The book is much better than the movie. The seemed to make a joke of it. Rereading it before I move on to Doctor Sleep.

Sometimes i feel like i can see things, then it actually happens...i think we all have a bit of the "shine"; the book was ok, so sad the father lost it, but it seems he was ready to sacrifice himself for his fam, so he let the hotel take him
