In a feat of virtuoso storytelling, Anne Rice unleashes Akasha, the queen of the damned, who has risen from a six-thousand-year sleep to let loose the powers of the night. Akasha has a marvelously devious plan to “save” mankind and destroy the vampire Lestat—in this extraordinarily sensual novel of the complex, erotic, electrifying world of the undead.

Look for a special preview of Anne Rice’s Prince Lestat in the back of the book. The Vampire Chronicles continue in Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, available for pre-order now.

Love this book! I've heard it wasn't peoples favorite bc of its length, however this is one of my favs bc even though its drawn out a bit w/too much descriptive-ness, it brings everything together. And very nicely! She wrote it in such a way that really has you holding your breath to find out the history & meaning of it all. Absolutely love the chapters separated by characters & so enjoyed getting to know all the characters that's been mentioned in the first two books. Can't wait to read the next in line of her vampire series. Then on to the witch series, then maybe to the angels, but no thanks to the wolf ones. Such a great book!
