What? A princess??

Me??? Yeah, right.

Mia Thermopolis is pretty sure there's nothing worse than being a five-foot-nine, flat-chested freshman, who also happens to be flunking Algebra.

Is she ever in for a surprise.

First Mom announces that she's dating Mia's Algebra teacher. Then Dad has to go and reveal that he is the crown prince of Genovia. And guess who still doesn't have a date for the Cultural Diversity Dance?

Although cute, it lacks the sweetness and naïveté of the movie version.

Very Cute

I've been meaning to give this book a read for a while, as I'm a fan of the movie. The first thing I can say is that the book is vastly different in details, while still being the same at the core. It's definitely not complex by any means, but it is a very light and fun read. I thoroughly enjoyed Mia's commentary, and can remember feeling a lot of the same things when I was that age, and the author managed to get a very realistic teenager tone. I will be giving the other books in the series a look, and recommend this if you want something fun, light, and a little frivolous. Advanced readers take note: I read the entire thing in several hours over one night, so don't expect a read that will sustain you for any length of time.

The ultimate light, fun (yet enjoyably quirky) read! I have probably read the whole series 5 times through! It is always fun to watch Mia grow as a person through her hilarious narrative!

This book was amazing it doesn't take very long to read it either; it took me one school year to read it twice (15 mins everyday) .As for the quality it was different than the movie , which i have seen before i read the book. I found the book better than the movie because the movie the book had more detail than a hour & a half movie were they had a budget. I really recomend this book. I do have to admit i skipped a couple of pages because i found it wasnt intresting but still a very good book to read. I love this story line :)
