Synopsis

Every so often a love story so captures our hearts that it becomes more than a story-it becomes an experience to remember forever. The Notebook is such a book. It is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, a tale that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true love all over again... At thirty-one, Noah Calhoun, back in coastal North Carolina after World War II, is haunted by images of the girl he lost more than a decade earlier. At twenty-nine, socialite Allie Nelson is about to marry a wealthy lawyer, but she cannot stop thinking about the boy who long ago stole her heart. Thus begins the story of a love so enduring and deep it can turn tragedy into triumph, and may even have the power to create a miracle...

Loved, loved, loved this book.

After seeing the movie, I knew that I would love the book, but I fell in love with it. I found some many delightful quotes in each and every chapter. I would be happy to read it over and over again. Thanks, Mr. Sparks for a great story.

This is a story of a young love gone wrong and the superbly right. I cry at the same spot every single time. This is the only book of Nick Sparks that I can bring myself to re-reading, a lot..

The movie is better
April 17th, 2013
I just wasted my time reading this. The movie script is much better and more heartfelt than the book. I'm glad the film makers made the changes they did because the story in the book has details missing. It felt holey. Sad to say, but, for the first time, I have enjoyed much more the movie version of a book. Usually, the film adaption does no justice to the actual story and feeling of the written word, but with this book it was completely the opposite. :/
