The Man on the Istanbul Train
Dr Lacy Glass is in Istanbul collecting information for a book when an archaeologist friend talks her into joining him on his dig in central Turkey. Traveling out by train, she befriends a scruffy man in a green trench coat by paying for his ticket, thus saving him from being thrown off the train. Next morning, she sees the same man flying past her window, dead. The trench coat he leaves behind has a sewn-in name tag, Maxwell Sebring.
When Lacy arrives at the dig site, she learns the project's wealthy backer, Maxwell Sebring, has died that same morning--in his tent and apparently of natural causes.
Lacy and the archaeologist, Paul Hannah, stubbornly refuse to acknowledge their mutual attraction while Lacy stubbornly refuses to give up her quest to find out: Who was that man on the train?
