    The Dragonriders of Pern

I first read this series in 1979 while pregnant with my son and still love it.

    Classic Tales

If I had known about these stories when they were first published, I probably would be in a position to review every book in the series. I enjoyed every chapter of the trilogy as everything seemed to flow naturally. It was easy to become immersed in the story without getting bogged down. When I needed to put the book down, there was no problem getting back into the flow of the story when I returned to it. Unlike many of the more modern books in this genre that seek to find unique and convoluted "magics" to set them apart, the author, may she rest in peace, simply told a good story.

    The Dragon Riders of Pern

I originally read the series after the third book was released. My husband had brought all three books, and I wasn't sure it was a subject that I was interested in reading. I read Sci-Fi once in great awhile, but I was so suprise...I really fell in love with the people, dragons and the new world of Pern. To be a great read a book has to be a just as good the second time as it was the first, and I have read this series three times now.

Get lost in another world ... choose Pern

My love for the world of Pern (and my love for Anne McCaffrey's fiction) began with this trilogy. I read this in high school, and now as an adult there hasn't been many years that have passed without me reading it all over again. I have literally read this trilogy ten times in the last ten years.

    Good

A good trilogy, good story lines but did take a bit to get used to the writing style.
