WHAT READERS ARE SAYING:
★★★★★ “Page turner that never got boring” ★★★★★ “An entirely unique idea…” ★★★★★ “…characters you care about, a villain to love (and hate), and two stories in one to keep you sucked in.” ★★★★★ “Definitely diving into the sequel when it comes out.” ★★★★★ “I love a book that keeps me thinking about it weeks after it’s finished.” ★★★★★ “…captivated…spent a sleepless night reading the whole thing!” ★★★★★

DESCRIPTION:A mysterious woven metal artifact is found at a paleontological dig in Africa. Mystified experts, confounded by the impossible timeline they receive from traditional dating methods, call upon a stubborn twenty-something with a unique talent. Matthew Turner's gift is also his curse: whenever he touches an object, his consciousness is flooded with the thoughts and feelings of those who touched it before him, be it last week or centuries ago. It's a talent that many covet, some fear, and almost no one understands.

Despite being exploited as a child and tormented by the unpleasant experiences imprinted on him from the various items he's "read," Matt agrees to travel from New York to the forests of Kenya. There, threatened by unknown enemies, and helped by a beautiful but prickly ally who begins to understand his strange ability, his mind journeys back in geological time to make a discovery so shocking that it forces us to rewrite all human history.

The Dig (Book 1 of the Matt Turner Series)
Average rating
4 / 5
Clever idea, not too in-depth but a "page turner".
November 3rd, 2015
Very interesting idea. Well told (with only a couple of spelling errors). The main character is developed as the story progresses, as I anticipate others to grow in future books. Really looking forward to reading book two for further adventures with this unusual 'explorer'. outmore

Shallow

The characters are more chariacature and stereotype than real. Not enough depth to keep me interested in what they do next. I won't be reading rhe other books in the trilogy.

Fantastic read. I loved the two stories and Matt's attachment to Irin. Exceedingly well though out and original. Keep them coming!

Bonne intrigue.

Je ne connaissais pas cet auteur. J`ai assez aimé pour acheter le second livre de cette série. Bon rebondissements tout au long du livre. Difficile à laisser pour reprendre plus tard.

Page turning, very believable. Loved it. Starts right out the gate with action. You can feel all of Matt discomfort, joy and pain. Truly gifted writer.

It was interesting and internal story was engaging

The modrrn characters were eclipsed by the prehistoric ones in terms of the engaging story being told. Good first effort by writer.

A good story but a bit over detaild in parts. The story line is gripping and the characters are believable. Enjoyable holiday reading.

A good story which took me beyond where I maybe wanted to be? I enjoyed reading this book and I couldn't put it down! It crossed thresholds my normal reading would not cross but from start to finish I enjoyed the fantasy and the journey! Thanks Matt Turner; I look forward to meeting you again!

The story is excellent, the pressure is kept on in every chapter and the characters are likeable and relatable. I highly recommend this as an excellent read, well written and I have already brought the next book and the prequel. Its nice to find a gd writer with a different take, much appreciated! Happy days.

Great story, well told. The obligatory romantic sub-plot was a needless distraction, but a small one. Straightforward sci-fi page turner. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this author.

A Fun Book
May 21st, 2014
Well, I am impressed. This book is a journey into the imagination with a sense of humor. I thought toward the middle that the story was dragging. But the excitement picked up and I found myself eager to read the next chapter. Well done!

Interesting Power
March 28th, 2014
Whether power or gift this would be a boon in the real world if the sensitivity was a little more refined or the character becomes more adept at control. Must read the next installment.
