Synopsis

Film lover Barbara Marr is a typical suburban mom living the typical suburban life in her sleepy little town of Rustic Woods, Virginia. Typical, that is until she sets out to find the missing link between a bizarre monkey sighting in her yard and the bone chilling middle-of-the-night fright fest at the strangely vacant house next door. When Barb talks her two friends into some seemingly innocent Charlie’s Angels-like sleuthing, they stumble upon way more than they bargained for and uncover a piece of neighborhood history that certain people would kill to keep on the cutting room floor.

237 pages of laugh-out-loud fun.

I laughed out loud while reading this funny mystery. The beginning in no way gave away what would come next. If you like to be amused and mystified at the same time read this book.

Entertaining

Interesting bunch of characters introduced in the book. Interpersonal relationships brought forth were believable.....read like on old 1940's black and white gangster movie in parts.......I found it quite entertaining if somewhat convoluted........in my opinion this author writes as if she is telling you the story in person.

Funny but a bit drawn out, I did enjoy it, however felt that a lot of unnecessary waffle spoilt the story. Don't really get the relevance of the monkeys!!!!!!!

21st Century American "Cozy" Mystery
January 13th, 2015
A cross between an English cozy and a French farce, this delightful little murder mystery is a very entertaining read. Barbara Marr, our indefatigable self described soccer mom, cannot let the puzzle of the vacant house next door go. Then some moonlight monkey madness ensures that mayhem ensues. This is a romp well worth reading. Oh yeah, did I mention the wise- guys?

Great read if you want to laugh out loud. The plot gets very tangled, and straightens to a great ending.
