Synopsis

Sherrilyn Kenyon's most highly-anticipated novel in the Dark-Hunter series since Acheron is here—the unforgettable story of Styxx, Acheron's twin brother and one of the most powerful beings on earth

Just when you thought doomsday was over . . .

Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge.

As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn't always been on his brother's side. They've spent more centuries going at each other's throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he's willing to trade his life and future for Acheron's.

The Atlantean goddess of Wrath and Misery, Bethany was born to right wrongs. But it was never a task she relished. Until now.

She owes Acheron a debt that she vows to repay, no matter what it takes. He will join their fellow gods in hell and nothing is going to stop her. But things are never what they seem, and Acheron is no longer the last of his line. Styxx and Acheron must put aside their past and learn to trust each other or more will suffer.

Yet it's hard to risk your own life for someone who once tried to take yours, even when it's your own twin, and when loyalties are skewed and no one can be trusted, not even yourself, how do you find a way back from the darkness that wants to consume the entire world? One that wants to start by devouring your very soul?

Gods...I thought Acheron was bad...I have never cried more in my life over a book....There are three perceptions in a situation...yours, the other person's, and the truth that lies in the middle....A hard lesson learned in this book....Mrs. Kenyon has truly outdone herself....

Amazing

I purchased this eBook over a year ago. I was ready to hate Styxx more than I already had...but boy, was I surprised and humbled! After reading Styxx's story, he has easily become my favourite character, surpassing even Acheron! I enjoyed this story so much, I read it twice in a row. I look forward to reading it again shortly, after I finish with the rest of the series.

Awesome, however i could have done without the continuous rape scenes. This was overkill. Storyline is tying in nicely with series and runs parralel with the Nick series.

This book was so impressive I couldn't even stop reading while on vacation in Dublin! I just wandered around found some steps or a bench and sat and read some more. Styx is truly the epitome of the meeting between memory and truth. Ash has to listen to his own advice on this one!

I read this story until my eye's began to and still I couldn't put it away. For me this story was about life and hardship. Styxx never up no matter what was said or done to him and believe me...he had every right to say...I QUIT but he never did. I loved this store. Thank you Sherrilyn for this wonderful story and proving that...you never judge a book by it's cover.

a powerfully written book. This book gives the other side of the coin and it isn't as bright and shinny a we thought. It gives thought of just how, what you see may not be the truth Beautifully written because it doesn't .skim over the bad parts of Styxx life, you get every detail whether you cringe of the brutality or sob for the lost little boy. LOVED THIS BOOK it was worth waiting for.

The reviled brother of Acheron gets his own story. Dramatically written, Kenyon does a beautiful job of portraying the interupted relationship of Styxx & Bethany.

If you loved Sherrilyn Kenyon's "Acheron", you'll equally love this novel. Some readers don't enjoy extremely descriptive books, but that is what makes Sherrilyn's stories so amazing. When I read Styxx I could easily see the timelines shared between Styxx and Acheron. "Two sides of the same coin" as it has been said. This book is a as much a true life lesson as it is a beautiful romance. If you're looking for a novel with a little bit of everything - this is the one for you.

Real eye opener after Acheron
February 18th, 2014
Absolutely phenomenal read definitely opened your eyes after reading Acheron, and finally getting some answers on what really happened way back then with their past lives and allows you to actually connect with Styxx as well. This book wasn't worth 5 stars it was definitely worth 10 :-)

There were times thru this book that I felt so guilty for hating Styxx like Acheron did. Once again we learn that we should never assume, we should confront and be truthful always. That's the only way to be happy.

I found this book totally engrossing. It was heart wrenching to see how styxx suffered through his life, but still kept his humanity and compassion for others. Her writing brought tears to my eyes a few times. This book shows how seeing life through a child's eyes and with a bit of manipulation from someone with evil intent can ruin a family. We see it everyday in our modern society, just different circumstances.. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it in a second!

you take a villain and realize that we never really knew him. We piece together ever little piece of information and realize it was so one sided. We missed a whole life that our imagination made up for us. So as you read it falls into place, and suddenly its two in the morning and you have been so wrapped up in her spell time seems to have rushed by. Its full of life lessons of never judging til you have all the information and even those in positions of power make mistakes. That there is a chance to make something right. It's got steamy moments, fight and a family at each others throats..Grab it and I bet you wont put it down

I loved this novel...of course at times I couldn't see the page I was reading through my tears, but that's what makes it so good. The one thing I really like about Kenyon's books is they are ultimately about love, forgiveness, and family, and this one doesn't disappoint.

Roller coaster read. Had to take a deep breath at the end of it. If you follow the series - it's a must read. If you don't, start with something else in Kenyon's collection, this is veeery heavy and lengthy.

I truly believe SK was trying to kill me emotionally with this book. And I thought reading ACHERON was hard. OMG! I cried a lot of tears while reading. I got mad too, and of course there was some laughter. There were many times I had to put this book down and take some time before I could continue reading. I got so upset and very emotional. It's an amazing read. And I loved the emotional roller coaster ride it took me on. :) As large as this book is I wanted more.
