Synopsis

New York Times best selling author William R. Forstchen now brings us a story which can be all too terrifyingly real...a story in which one man struggles to save his family and his small North Carolina town after America loses a war, in one second, a war that will send America back to the Dark Ages...A war based upon a weapon, an Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP). A weapon that may already be in the hands of our enemies.

Months before publication, One Second After has already been cited on the floor of Congress as a book all Americans should read, a book already being discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a truly realistic look at a weapon and its awesome power to destroy the entire United States, literally within one second. It is a weapon that the Wall Street Journal warns could shatter America. In the tradition of On the Beach, Fail Safe and Testament, this book, set in a typical American town, is a dire warning of what might be our future...and our end.

CAPTVATING
August 27th, 2015
IT HAS BEEN A LONG GIME SINCE I HAVE READ A BOOK THAT WAZ DIFFICULT TO PU DOWN. IT WAS CAPTIVATING, THRILLING, FRIGHTENING AND REALISTIC ALL AT THE SAME TIME. FOLLOWING THE LIVES OF ONE FAMIIES EXPERIENC THROUGH A VERY REAL THREAT, BROUGHT THE REALITY OF IT ALL INTO FOCUS. WONDERFULLY WRITEN, EMOTIONALLY CHRAGED.

I've been waiting for this for 35 years!

Since my start on a physics major and completed computer science major, I've wanted to write this book. This was reinforced by my communications specialist (and other) training in the Army Reserve. As I've seen, Electro-Magnetic Pulse attacks are quite possible (?probable?). Besides, this is a good book - well written! Worth the cost!

Riveting. Sobering. Frighteningly raw and eye-opening look at a very possible future for an America unprepared.

Excellent and important

If this were simply fiction, this would be an immensely entertaining novel. However, since this is an illustration of a possible real life situation, this is a truly immersive and intense read.

Interesting, a bit preachy

Interesting story. Author's right-wing views are never far from the surface. Could use more editing eg "should've" written as "should of" in numerous places.
