Synopsis

This is the story of two mothers, strangers to one another.

The first has two children--twins, a boy and girl, who are seniors in high school. She wants their last Christmas as a family living in the same home to be perfect, but her husband is delayed returning from a business trip abroad. And then there's an accident--a fatal one involving a drunk driver.

Meanwhile, the other mother has a daughter who needs a new heart, and so the loss of one woman becomes the miracle the other has desperately prayed for. While one mother grieves, and pulls away from her family, the other finds that even miracles aren't always easy to receive.

Wonderful read! Easy flow, drawing you in to a deep and moving drama of life and death and life. Being an organ donor is the most of last gifts anyone can make.

This is a very emotional book. In one hand you have the lost of a loved one, and in the other the miracle of live.

A captivating novel
February 23rd, 2014
This is the first book written by this author I have read. The story was wonderfully captivating and kept me wanting to read more to find out what was happening next. I was also brought to tears more than once as the story returned me to those intense feelings of loss, uncertainty and not wanting to live on after the stillbirth of our son. This story reminded me that grieving the death of a stillborn or teenager it makes no difference - we all deal with it differently and feel cheated over the loss of dreams and aspirations for our children. The story also gently reminds us of the importance of organ donation and that from great tragedy can come great gifts. I will definitely read another book from this author and would recommend this book to my friends.

I couldn't put the book down. FantasTic! Ends abruptly, which is a bummer since you will be so deep into the book.

This was a fabulous book, about organ donors . I felt the epilogue said it all, more people should be generous and donut the loved one's organs. Medicine can do so much now. Some of it is so wonderful, to save people. So fill out that card and tell your family !! !
