Synopsis

Slip one ...

A year after her husband's death, Jo Mackenzie is finally starting to get the hang of being a single parent.

Knit two together ...

The boys are thriving in their new seaside home, the wool shop is starting to do well and despite two weddings, an in-school knitting project and Trevor the Wonder Dog coming to stay, she's just about keeping her head above water.

Cast off ...

But boys, babies and best friends certainly make life a lot more interesting. Can Jo cope when things get really complicated? Because if knitting truly does keep you sane when your life starts to unravel then it looks like Jo is going to need much bigger needles.

Excellent Follow up to Divas Don't Knit

It's been a year since Josephine McKenzie's husband's sudden death, a year of major changes. Leaving London and buying a sea-side home and her Gran's yarn shop business, getting Jack (7) and Archie (5) settled into school, figuring out how to take care of everything on her own, and taking a short holiday fling abroad with famous photographer Daniel, are all part of getting her back to life again. When both Ellen and Gran announce they are getting married and want Jo to be their maid of honour, Jo discovers she's pregnant with her third child, this one without a husband. Jo's introspection as the baby grows inside and the reaction of friends, family and the sperm donor father bring some great moments amongst the fun of raising two young boys and wedding preparations. Lovely characters with interesting personalities like Elsie and her son Martin, best friend Ellen and her fiancé Harry, Lady Denton, Diva actress Grace and her staff Bruno & Maxine, and Mr. Pallfrey and his dog Trevor. Definitely looking forward to book 3 in this series. It was like finding an old friend when I discovered book 2.
