The mystic Isle of Aelynn slowly gravitates toward the same disastrous fate as revolutionary Europe—its survival depends on returning an elusive treasure…
With her home torn by the loss of their spiritual leader, Lissandra Olympus, the heir apparent, seeks the help of the one man who might save them— renegade warrior Murdoch LeDroit. But Murdoch has turned his back on those who feared his extraordinary psychic powers and rejected him. Besides, reigniting the combustible passion between him and Lissandra would only expose her to the dangerous forces that shadow him.
But if they want to protect Aelynn from destruction and chaos, they must work together to retrieve the magical key to its survival—the Chalice of Plenty. Only then can Murdoch ever hope to become the ruler Aelynn needs—and only then if Lissandra agrees to become his lover.
“With its complex characters Rice’s last book in the Mystic Isle series pits a stubborn seasoned warrior with an equally determined young woman. With an overview of the French Revolution, depths of emotion, mysticism and a great love, she ties it all together in one passionate and fiery conclusion.”-- Joan Hammond, Romantic Times BOOKreviews, 4 1/2 Top Pick

Must Read - Last Mystic Book!!!
This is my favorite of the "Mystic" books aside from the prequel (Mystic Isle), and it was well worth reading. As I mentioned with Mystic Warrior (Book 3), I would suggest you read the prequel first and things make more sense then. Having said that, if you are the type who doesn't want any spoilers in a series, then you need to read books 1-3 before this book or you will get a ton of spoilers. Being the final book in the Mystic series, this book ties up all the story-lines and opens up the possible beginnings of the characters from the "Magic" series. Your heart really aches for Murdock and Lissandra - they are both really complex characters who have had to grow up through the series. This book takes them one the adventure of a lifetime.by tammy on January 01, 2016
