I found the first part of the book hard to get through, but I kept on edge the whole book through. Definitely keeps you wondering how everything is going to come into place! It is a dark book though and Katniss looses a lot of her spirit and a lot of her hope, I think. I was disappointed by the ending, and felt that she lost her character, and most all, she never fell in love and never rose out of the ashes despite all the hardships she went through. With the war from the districts against the capitol, the book ended up being very heavy with no personal hope. Hardships are meant to bring hope, and change, and healing. But read it and find out for yourself!

    Mockingjay

Although so many have praised this series so much I just found it seriously depressing. We have a brutal strange world but I hope we are never reduced to this. I'm really not sure if this could be called a happy ending or not. I had a very difficult time forcing myself though these books. The writing is excellent but the world is too bleak for my taste.. Sorry!

    Omg! *Spoiler alert*

I can't believe she chose Peeta and even had children! I absolutely loved this series but I am slightly dissatisfied with the ending but only because I really wanted Katniss to choose Gale!

I thought this was one of the best finales to any book series I've read. Despite Collin's crisp writing style her characters are so complex that you find yourself caring about them, even when you want to shake some sense into them. The pace is relentless and the tension that she builds in the final chapters will have you hyperventilating. Long standing issues are finally resolved; to the reader's liking? You be the judge, but I can't wait for her next offering.

At one time or another in our life we all need a hero, I can't think of s better one than Katniss Everdeen.....young or old she'll have you cheering her on in her right for humanity.
