Synopsis

A Duke by inheritance, Hannish MacGreagor soon learned the title came with very little wealth, so he bought a silver mine in Idaho, left his wife of two weeks in Scotland, and sailed to America. Later, he sold the mine, became one of the wealthiest men in Colorado and built Marblestone Mansion on a bluff overlooking Colorado Springs. His hopes were high when he sent for his wife, but something was amiss - his wife was not what she pretended to be.

Marti Talbott's books are suitable for ages 14 and older.

I enjoyed it
August 27th, 2015
This book was a short quick read, and although i am not sure if it is historicaly accurate, i liked the 3rd person POV, whicb made it easy for the reader to find out what other people are thinking. Also, i liked how close and friendly all (minus olivia) the characters were.

Poor.

A tiny plot, drawn out with laboured dialogue to make a book. Historically inaccurate and with poorly drawn characters. Glad it was a Bookbub bargain buy!

Disappointing
June 17th, 2015
The characters weren't very well drawn out. The action seemed forced. As this author has many books, I may try another, but this ine was quite disappointing

Intrigue and romance both sides of the pond.

Having read the Highlander series 16 books I knew that Marti would not disappoint. I got this book 1 of Marblestone free from BookHub. I've since bought book 2 and enjoying the characters immensely.

Starting a new life in a new country has many challenges. I love loved this book because it took a traditional Scottish clan and placed them in early America with wonderful characters woven together in a great story.

Style and Aplomb
May 9th, 2015
Ms. Talbott certainly has a way with words! She draws you in, cajoles you, makes you feel safe and comfortable in the world she creates then weaves the most wonderful stories! She has a very descriptive style which is very evident in the first book of the Marblestone Mansion series. Marblestone Mansion follows the MacGregors of the Highlander series into the 20th century and I must say they arrived with style and aplomb.

I liked the book, but. . .
September 30th, 2014
I liked the story, but I wish the author had concentrated on one or two couple and developed their characters more. I liked almost, all the characters in this story, but I loved Sassy. Yes there where a number of grammar and spelling error, but
