Fifteen year old Peter Stewart lives with his mother and grandfather in Florida during the mid 1800's. He has always dreamed of becoming a fisherman like his father was. Peter grew up believing his father was lost at sea twelve years earlier. After building a fishing boat with his grandfather, Peter learns that his father died while trying to find treasure on a mysterious island in what is now known as the Bermuda Triangle.
While on his deathbed, Peter's grandfather has him promise to find the treasure sometime in his life. Peter decides to embark on the dangerous journey to Island Unknown with his dog, Captain. Peter must withstand the ridicule of the town bully, Leech Myers, and battle a hurricane while sailing to find the treasure of the mysterious Island Unknown. Will Peter meet the same fate as his father?
