As a modern gladiator's daughter, Lyn and her family live by the rules of the Gladiator Sports Association. But those rules can turn against you. When Lyn's seventh father dies in the ring, his opponent, Uber, captures Lyn's dowry bracelet-and her hand in marriage. To win her freedom, Lyn will do what no girl has done before: enter the arena and fight her father's murderer-even though she's falling in love with him.

When I first read the synopsis for the book I thought it sounded amazing; and though it had its moments there was also a lot of things that could have been improved. The storyline and general theme was very cool, there were lots of inventive futuristic ideas that helped paint an image of the world the characters were living in; however the dialogue was always very monotone, you never feel like you truly get the know the characters and the book just needed more detail. I just would have liked to see more of a courtship and dialogue between Lyn and Uber, things with them seemed to move fast and unexplained and then not at all. I think if someone has a wild imagination that can fill in the blanks the author leaves and they love the overall storyline and subject matter than they should give it a try.
