“Readers who enjoy Jenny Crusie and Janet Evanovich will fall head over heels for Divorced, Desperate and Delicious . . .” —New York Times bestseller Dianna Love

Ever since photographer Lacy Maguire caught her ex playing Pin the Secretary to the Elevator Wall, she's been content with her dog Fabio, her three cats, and a vow of chastity. But all of that changes when the reindeer-antlered Fabio drags in a very desperate, on-the-run detective who decides to take refuge in her house—a house filled with twinkling lights and a decorated tree. (Okay, so it's February, but she has a broken heart to mend, a Christmas-card shoot to do, and a six-times divorced, match-making mother to appease.) For the first time in a looooong while, Lacy reconsiders her vow. Because sexy Chase Kelly, wounded soul that he may be, would be an oh-so-delicious way of breaking her fast. Now, if she can just keep them both alive and him out of jail . . .

Super awesome read! I enjoyed every bit of it, start to finish. Spectacular writing too...her use of words really trigger the imagination. And I'm so in love with our heroin, her adorable "allergies".

Perfect blend of romance, humor, & suspense
January 11th, 2015
After nearly being killed by the partner who's trying to frame him, an injured Chase is on the run with no idea where to turn. But when a dog with antlers and a woman wearing nothing but a t-shirt declaring her divorced status find him, he finds himself hiding out in a house with talking appliances and cats dressed up for Christmas. In February. Either he's lost his mind, or the beautiful woman forced to take him in is completely off her rocker. Then again, she's his only chance at coming out of this alive and free. Judging Covers: Now that I've read the book, I totally understand the cover. But I gotta be honest… When I first saw it, I thought it was some kind of self-help, empowerment book for divorcees. The Verdict: While I'd love to go on and on about all the scenes I loved in the book, I'm afraid my descriptions would suck all the fun right out of it. From the Christmas decor in February to the talking appliances to the endless stream of answering machine messages and drop-in visits encouraging Lacy to get out there and get a sex life, the story is hilarious. Chase is a reckless and directionless detective being framed for crimes he didn't commit, sought by both the police and the dirty cop who tried to kill him, and Lacy is a sweet but lost divorcee who is terrified of turning into a serial bride the way her mother and grandmother have been. Their attraction is pretty much instant, but the tension of the situation overshadows that at first, and then they seem to strike up a comfortable friendship. As Chase continues to use Lacy's home as his hideout and the suspense builds, they start to give in to their attraction to each other. Lacy does her best to separate love and sex, but she's too much of a romantic to completely cage off her heart. And Chase, who's been a hot mess since his wife died, isn't really thinking past the moment. He does, however, recognize Lacy's vulnerability, and he seems to frame his words and actions around that, playing up the passion she yearns for with consideration for the patience and tenderness she needs. Their relationship is hot and sweet and often funny, and it's impossible not to love them together. Divorced, Desperate and Delicious is a wonderfully entertaining read, with the perfect blend of romance, humor, suspense, and down-to-earth characters dealing with a crazy situation. And fortunately, there are more books in the series because, honestly, I'm not ready for this fun to end!

Great romantic suspense.

Divorced, Desperate and Delicious starts out with Lace's dog finding Chase in a small building in her back yard. Chase is a cop who has been shot and is running from a bad guy who is trying to frame him for many crimes. Chase forces Lace to help him hide but, since he is basically a nice guy, doesn't force her very hard. Very quickly Lace realizes he is telling her the truth about being set-up and wants to help him prove his innocence. In the process, she falls in love with him. I loved this book. Murder, intrigue, and acceptance all make their way into this story, leading to plot twists and turns that keep you on your toes. Chase has pushed everyone away and barely been living since his wife died but when he realizes that his life in on the line, he sees that he does want to live. When Lace starts to have feelings for Chase, she is determined to not get too wrapped up in these feelings because she doesn't want to be like her mother and grandmother who have both been married and divorced many times. This was a well written story with super characters. It has suspense, unique plot, funny secondary characters, great dialogue and hot love scenes. Even the title is great. It grabbed my attention right away and made me want to read this book. This is the type of book where you'll want to clear some time and just sit and read it. You won't want to put it down. But be warned, it's like riding a roller coaster of not only emotions but plot.
