Synopsis

THE FIRST NOVEL OF THE BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD

“Dark fantasy lovers, you just got served” (New York Times Bestselling Author Lynn Viehl). Return to where it all began—in the first novel in the phenomenal Black Dagger Brotherhood series by #1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward....

The only purebred vampire left on the planet and the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who killed his parents centuries ago. But when his most trusted fighter is killed—orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate—Wrath must put down his dagger and usher the beautiful female into another world.

Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn’t there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of the Brotherhood and blood frighten her. Yet his touch ignites a dawning new hunger—one that threatens to consume them both....

INCLUDES A NEW LETTER FROM J. R. WARD

Good easy read

I like to escape when I read. Nothing too heavy just good entertainment. This is exactly that. I love that vampires are a subspecies of humans, like Neanderthals. It gave the book a little more believability. Which is hard to do when talking about zombies and vamps.

I couldn't even get through the first book. Kind of sad I wasted my time. I personally think it is very cheesy and not at all interesting/intriguing. I'm confused by all the positive reviews.

Great book !,

I am not a fan of the paranormal genre as a whole. I do enjoy the good shifter novel, but have never listed vampires. Having been urged by many people to read "The Black Dagger Brotherhood" I decided to give it a try !! Great story setting up a need to read the next one! For someone who has not enjoyed vampire stories, J.R.Ward keep me entertained and wanting more! Excellent book, and looks like a great series.

One of the rest vampire stories I have read since Anne Rice. It's a unique story that is excellently written with great characters and is full of action romance and brotherhood.

Yeah....not impressed. Took me six days to read with three tries of trying to start to read the book. However - they say they get better and I can understand that, so sometime will give number two a try.

I can see how these books could become addictive. Light, easy read. A bit campy. Good thing there are several more...
