Synopsis

Bubba Snoddy’s got some problems. His family has descended for the Christmas holidays and not in a good way. His cousin wants to own the Snoddy Mansion, decrepit, falling down columns, termites, wood rot and all and isn’t above using manipulative behavior to achieve his ends. Miz Demetrice is up to nefarious and illegal activities while trying to entertain relatives. His cousin’s ten year old son is the personification of a demon and has hobbies of looking at medical photographs, making stun guns from scratch, and causing havoc wherever he roams. The woman of Bubba’s dreams, Deputy Willodean Gray, is still evading his romantic pursuits. Patients from the local mental institute are wandering over the town, ostensibly assisting with the Christmas Festival thanks to a program established by the mayor to cut costs. And Bubba has just found the dead body of a man dressed as Santa in the Christmas scene at City Hall. Oh, Pegramville, Texas is just the best place to be at Christmas if a fella has a bullet proof vest and a linebacker’s helmet. All the folks think Bubba might have done did it…again, even though it was proven that he didn’t done did it the first time, and Bubba has to move quickly in order to catch a murderer.

Book 2 of the Bubba series.

    Unexpected

I really didn't know what I would get in this book. It was certainly unexpected. The characters began to interest me for such a light read. Began to look forward to each time I could get away to read the book...so I realized I did, in fact, enjoy it! So much so, that I have purchased some more. Fun reading during these serious times.

    Bubba is at it again!

I just finished reading Bubba and the Twelve Deadly Days of Christmas by C. L. Bevill. This volume has us back in Pegramville as they celebrate the Christmas Holidays. The whole town is decorated for the festive occasion when Bubba goes and does it again. He finds a dead body in the Santa Claus/Nativity display at City Hall, set up by the Methodist Church after collaborating with the Baptist Church. And, once again, he is considered the main suspect. Only this time, the murder victim is a close friend of Miz Demetrice. Plus, she has a secret she's trying to hide from Bubba. Miz Demetrice and Bubba have a houseful of Louisiana relatives visiting the Snoddy Mansion for the Christmas Holidays. These money grubbing, antique stealing family members are causing a huge ruckus in the household. Still love-struck for the affections of Deputy Willodean Gray, come join Bubba, his family and all the quirky inhabitants of Pegramville as he tries to help solve this holiday murder mystery.
