Straightforward, enlightening

Though I consider myself to be the most functional of my siblings, having a wonderful job and healthy, happy family, I was amazed to understand why I keep hitting the same roadblocks in life. I understand now why I have so many battles with myself over eating, exercise, spending, intimacy, etc. I have spent so many years trying to play it safe that I have not been a full time player in any of these games. Kind of eating healthy, but still binging. Kind of working out, but not fully committed. Kind of saving, but still using a credit card. For sure not as severe a problem as might plague many children of alcoholics, but one that has frustrated me since my teens. So happy I read this book. I can see myself coming back to it as I continue on my journey to remind myself of this new learning.
