Synopsis

Can kidnapping a sick woman alter the course of a nation?

After stepping off the corporate treadmill, Clint finds love to last a lifetime in Beth, who is recovering from kidney failure.  When she blows off their date and misses her dialysis session, Clint suspects she's been kidnapped.  In spite of the mounting evidence, her family refuses to call the police.  They have their reasons, but without routine dialysis, Beth won’t survive.
While Clint pursues every lead to find her. Beth’s dilemma draws the attention of spy trackers at the CIA investigating a computer system breach.  Someone launched an unauthorized mission.  Was it terrorists? Or someone more sinister . . .
Clint must find Beth before her kidneys fail or her abductors pervert the justice of a nation.

Very pleasant

I just discovered this new (for me) writer and I have to say that she is a very good novelist, the prose is excellent with a rich vocabulary. A pleasure to read, the story is quite captivating, the characters well developed and the story is believable although a little predictable by the end. I am looking forward reading more from her.

It keeps you in suspense. It was hard to put down. It jumped about some of the time , but was other wise a great read. The suspense kept intensifying. It almost felt like being there trying to set those captives free. This is only the first book by Helen Hanson that I've read, but will definetly look for more of her reads.

Excellent plot. Spellbinding. Good character development. The only negative, and the reason I gave this a 4 rather than a 5, is because of the constant referral to race/ethnicity. This story would have been just as exciting without those referrals. I do plan to read more of Helen Hanson's books since this one was exciting, suspenseful and well written

A good read.

Best free book I have read - and I've paid good money for many books inferior in every respect. Well paced - no flat points in the plot - and whilst some of the twists were predictable, there were also plenty of surprises,

A jolly good read. Lots of action and interesting characters. Wish the author had used fewer adjectives though. They seemed stilted at times.
