Synopsis

Once in a lifetime, a writer puts it all together. This is James Patterson's best book ever.

Total

For 36 years, James Patterson has written unputdownable, pulse-racing novels. Now, he has written a book that surpasses all of them. ZOO is the thriller he was born to write.

World

All over the world, brutal attacks are crippling entire cities. Jackson Oz, a young biologist, watches the escalating events with an increasing sense of dread. When he witnesses a coordinated lion ambush in Africa, the enormity of the violence to come becomes terrifyingly clear.

Destruction

With the help of ecologist Chloe Tousignant, Oz races to warn world leaders before it's too late. The attacks are growing in ferocity, cunning, and planning, and soon there will be no place left for humans to hide. With wildly inventive imagination and white-knuckle suspense that rivals Stephen King at his very best, James Patterson's ZOO is an epic, non-stop thrill-ride from "One of the best of the best." It was pretty good.

I liked the book. I saw many reviews where other readers complained about it having an abrupt ending with nothing resolved. I did not feel that way. I think the ending was very appropriate because it forces you to see what we as humans are doing to the world. It is the nasty truth that people don't want to think about. If you are looking for a feel-good kind of story with hero's that save everyone, then find something else to read. This is a very dark and disturbing look at mankind and how it is killing itself for the sake of technology and luxury. Makes you really think....

I absolutely loved this book! I have been watching the TV series named after this book, and although they share the title, the stories have some following of the book. There are many details that are different and I found those differences made the book much more interesting. James & Michael make the personalities a lot more depth and substance. You feel their every emotion and pain. As well his description of the animals thoughts gives you a much more real time understanding of what's happening to them. They also give the reader a feeling of being there and the hope that it truly never actually happens. Congratulations to Mr. Patterson and Mr. Ledwidge on a novel so well done!!!

What I expected - good

This book did not diapoint - it was engaging and fun to read, different from typical thrillers. Not at all like the TV show that just started, so I am glad I read it!

Abrupt ending leaves me as cold his new home in Greenland. Chapters are so short, I sometimes wonder about the lead in to the next.

Great read!

I really enjoyed this book! Well-written, suspenseful, and thought-provoking. Humans have survived on wit and cunning rather than tooth and claw. But we are soft, defenseless prey against highly evolved predators that now roam the streets. I can't wait to see how the TV show reflects the story on screen!

Disappointed
May 23rd, 2015
I enjoyed this book somewhat. I was a little surprised by the ending it is unresolved which left me with a sense of disappointment in the whole story . It did seem a little preachy in the end hitting home the message of our impeding doom because we use electricity.

Not a book for everyone but it is a break from the normal routine. Doesn't take forever to read so that makes it a perfect downtime for a hectic life. The storyline draws you in and holds you to it.

Awesome book but ending sucked. Felt like he forgot to add a ending chapter at all. I didnt even realize it was over i actually went back to content and reread everything but ends kinda mid sentence or mid thought. Besides that a really good book and very thought provoking.

Zoo... boo

Huge gaps, up and down predictable story line, pass on this one. Maybe if it was longer or tried to cover a smaller version it would have worked.

Cool start, really got me going,,, but just freezes in the middle when Ozzie get back in the US... lost completely momentum,.. is it there that Peterson passed the pen to the other writer, to finish it up??... disappointing.
