Comprehensive and Thought Provoking!
May 28th, 2013
What I liked best about this book is, as the author states, it is not written from a denominational point of view. This to me was so refreshing. I like to study the views and practices of many cultures and religions -- this is exactly what I've been looking for. I think a lot of others are as well. Somehow, we know we've not been getting the whole story. Included are references and analysis from the Bible, the Torah and Zohar, the apocryphal books, Zoroastrianism, the great works of the Egyptians and Greeks, Islam and the Quran, Hinduism and Buddhism, Native American spiritual prophecies -- and that's not all! I liked that the author also included analysis of magic, the occult and mysticism from east and west as these are also very important in attempting to understand not only the Angels, but the structure and hierarchy of the heavens. There were some things that I did not agree with -- most notably the premise that since women possess the X chromosome, which is negative versus the positive Y chromosome of the male, which is positive, woman cannot enter the higher levels of heaven until they have become perfected, or have reunited with their male spirit counterpart. Still, no reason for me to stop reading or remove a star from my rating. World of Angels is comprehensive, thought provoking and well researched.
