Synopsis

Murph and Rory Caulfield are two regular kids in the small town of Coombs in rural Virginia. When their uncle goes to fetch the local sheriff after finding "something bad" on his farm, the boys go to check it out for themselves. What they find is more than just bad, though - it could kill them and everyone they know.

The race is on now. First to escape, then to find out what's happened to their family and their town. If they can do that, they can think about finding a safe place to hole up away from the horrors that pursue them.

But day zero is here, and maybe there are no safe places. Not any more.

Virginia Day Zero is a sci-fi short story about the end of the world.

Wish I hadn't.

Perhaps it was intentional but it wasn't very well written which made it hard to read. It was, however, very interesting. Also - and this is no fault of the book - it was depressingly hopeless.

Good story, I give it 2 stars. The ending leaves you hanging. It appears they die, but it is not for certain. It have a feel of incompleteness.

Interesting read

Fast paced no nonsense read. Can't wait to read day zero, more for the writers story telling abilities than anything else. Aliens, zombies and vampire stories can be much of a muchness, people attacked, people die, people fight back, but this little snippet made me forget all the other tales I've read because of its excellent writing, I got lost in a forest with green goo. :D

Not the usual kind of story I go for but I really enjoyed this. For a short story, you really get attached to the two main characters. Full of shock and suspense, I'll definitely be looking out to read Dark Zero!

Virginia Day Zero

A truly imaginative story. It starts slow but drags you in then -stops. I now feel I must read "Day Zero" the full novel to find out what is happening and how things will end. A truly great mix of horror, sci-fi and mystery. This author may take up the Stephen King baton and take it further. I recommend this novella to those adults who read these genres.
