Riveting. Reacher is always one step ahead. He picks up on things that the reader does not until Lee Child points it out to us. Nice twists in this book. I do find that someone is really goofing in the proof reading before it goes to print. Plus not delineating where a new paragraph should start &other mistakes in spelling is beginning to take enjoyment away for this reader!

I really liked this Reacher title as it just feels such a well rounded story. Good suspense, a truly nasty villan and great relationships with insights into Reacher's past. Never got bored reading this!

I am a true Reacher fan and have read all of his books, this one in my opinion is the best in all the series. The action doesn't stop and you can't wait to turn the next page to see what's coming up next

Jack Reacher is in Florida when a detective approaches and tells him that a Mrs. Jacob is looking for him. Not knowing the name, Reacher doesn't admit who he is. Later the detective is murdered. Reacher follows the information and goes to Mrs. Jacob's home. He finds that she is the daughter of Gen. Garber, Reacher's mentor and father figure. The general had just died and Reacher is explaining to his daughter, Jodie that she may be in danger when two men attempt to kill her. Reacher saves Jodie and remains as her bodyguard. In New York, Hook Hobie is behind the attempted murder. He is currently terrorizing a corporate CEO to turn over his wealth to Hobie or face unimaginable pain and torture. Reacher and Jodie find that Gen. Garber had been helping an elderly couple look for their son who was a MIA. Their son, Victor Hobie was a helicopter pilot who disappeared during his second tour in Vietnam. The stories connect. The cat and mouse game played with Hobie and Reacher is well done and believable. The suspense is constant and there are some well placed surprises to add to the entertainment.

One of the strongest of the Reacher series, Tripwire begins with Jack Reacher digging pools in Florida when he finds himself being followed by a man who turns out to be a P.I., and also dead. That is the moment when the story takes hold, and if you're a fan of the Reacher series, then this is a must. It showcases Reacher's talents as a true investigator, and reminds us that the one thing he seems to struggle with is pulling his punches. This thriller has a suitably sadistic villain, a deep, dark secret from decades before, and a whole lot of thrills, action, and violence. But as always, Reacher is much more than the tough brute he presents himself to be. It's his thoughtful, intelligent, witty internal voice that smashes down all the walls; not his basketball-sized fists or cast-iron forehead!

Pretty well anything written by this author is good. I liked this one although the villain was a little gruesome in his methods.
