Synopsis

Finley Jayne knows she's not 'normal'. Normal girls don't lose time or have something inside them that makes them capable of remarkably violent things. Her behavior has already cost her one job so when she's offered the lofty position of companion to Phoebe a debutante recently engaged to Lord Vincent she accepts despite having no experience. Lord Vincent is a man of science with his automatons and inventions but Finley is suspicious of his motives where Phoebe is concerned. She will do anything to protect her new friend but what she discovers is even more monstrous than anything she could have imagined... An ebook exclusive prequel to The Steampunk Chronicles.

My first steampunk

Absolutely fell in love with this genre, steampunk took me by surprise, I could not put it down. Had to wait a few months for the second one to come out and had to read that one too! Great job and thank you Kady Cross :)

Incredibly Enjoyable!

Finley's description at the start of this book was enough to hook me. I really, really enjoyed this book more than i thought i would, and my only regret is not finding time to read it sooner. I'm certain other books by Kady Cross are just as engrossing!

A Strange Case Indeed, Yet Still Delights
May 9th, 2013
A fun and easy read. I've never read...what is it? steam punk before. The pace was swift, the narration witty, and the plot simple. Can be read in one afternoon or during lunch breaks at work over the course of a week. Everything is resolved at the end except...what it is that makes Finley Jayne strange.

Soo much potential for this book as a starter, but too short in itself
