Well written and very expressively done. You can see the characters and feel for them. Also closes some stories from Mortal Instruments! Love it and recommend to anyone that likes the first series!

Infernal Devices trilogy

I loved this story from beginning to end. Not often could I put this book down before going back to find out what happens next. It is nice that she gives us a chance to see that sort of happily ever after feel but also keeps it a down to earth sort. I know that sounds confusing and counter to what I said firstly but it makes sense if you read it all the way through.

These books are amazing! I really enjoyed them. I found the character relationships and developments really intricate and alluring. Superbly written, Cassandra Clare brings another story in the Shadowhunter world to life. Clare captures the style and elements of the Victorian Age perfectly. I would highly recommend this series; it's definitely one of my favourites.

Cassandra Clare created such a wonderful story in the first Mortal Instruments series and it was great to explore it further in The Infernal Devices. Whilst it was difficult to get into the big initially, having grown partial to Clary and Jace in the Mortal Instruments, I quickly warmed to the new characters and thoroughly enjoyed the book. A must read for any fan of the original series!

This series was very appealing for a number of reasons; the steampunk nature of the clockwork devices, fused with the supernatural details of theShadowhunters world (already well-established through the "Mortal Instruments" series) and the details of old London sparked the imagination on numerous levels. The story is also interlaced with the teen love triangle romance between our three main protagonists, whose relationships, at times, admittedly bordered on painful amounts of teenaged angst. I was also disappointed that Will's character was essentially just a copy and paste of Jace: devastatingly handsome, with the same quick wit and being endearingly damaged just enough for the girls to fall for him - a bit too perfect. Apart from that, the dialogue and witty interchanges make it a very readable, likeable series, perfectly aimed for the teenage / young adult readers who love it.

I'm currently on the last book, Clockwork Princess, and I absolutely love the series! I was a huge fan of The Mortal Instruments series, but it took me a while to actually pick up this series, I didn't think it was going to be as good. However, I was wrong... It was so much better! I fell in love with the characters, and went on new adventures with them. I highly recommend this book to everyone, even if you have not read The Mortal Instruments.
