Synopsis

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is an 1876 novel about a young boy growing up along the Mississippi River and filled with colorful adventures and characters, notably Huckleberry Finn, son of the town drunk. Others include Tom's early love Becky, Injun Joe, Muff Potter, and the kindly Widow Douglas. The story is set in the Town of  "St. Petersburg", inspired by Hannibal, Missouri, where Twain lived.
This American classic has been the subject of numerous movies - starting with Jackie Coogan's portrayal in 1930 - and stage adaptations.
