This chapter provides an understanding of the difficulties in translating Lean Six Sigma to the project environment and the necessary translation and applicable techniques of LSS to the project environment. Showing Lean Project Management equals TOC Project Management. The chapter will provide a little background on Lean and Six Sigma individually and then collectively. It will discuss the obstacles to directly applying the techniques and definitions derived in manufacturing to the project environment. It will show the translations to the project environment and the application of techniques to speed flow; deliver value; and reduce waste.
