Makes you think.

This is an interesting book about something many of us take for the granted, numbers. While they often appear as something that just IS in society, this book lays out the foundations of how numbering systems are not rooted in any sort of unquestionable, objective state, but are also malleable concepts that change depending on the they are constructed by the society that uses them. True story, I figured out how the 2012 end of the world Mayan prophecy was unlikely due to this book. Hint, it has to do with their numbering system.
