Job Tips For Geeks: The Job Search is a step-by-step guide to the job search process written specifically for software engineers and technology professionals.  The book is written chronologically and starts with the decision to look for work and setting up parameters and search criteria.  It covers the strengths and weaknesses of various job search strategies, how to create and submit resumes, interview and phone screen techniques (how to control an interview), how to 'hack' your job search, and much more.  It ends with sections on multiple offers, negotiation, acceptance, resignation, counteroffers, and the transition to your new job.

The book was written by Dave Fecak, the blogger behind the Job Tips For Geeks website.  Dave has been a recruiter of software professionals for 15 years and has been the president of the Philadelphia Area Java Users' Group since 2000. He has helped thousands of tech pros in their job searches, and is now sharing his knowledge with others.

One unique aspect of the book is that it provides quite a bit of insight and inside information on the technical recruiting business, with advice on how to protect yourself from recruiters and get the most out of the relationship.  In some parts of the book, Dave reveals what recruiters are trained to say to candidates at various stages in the search process.
