Synopsis

Due to heavy subject matter and sexual content, this book is recommended for ages  17+

From THE NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author of SLAMMED and POINT OF RETREAT.

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before.  He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

This was absolutely amazing! Every emotion was portrayed beautifully, and I found myself crying from the sheer beauty of this book. It encapsulates everything that life is, showing thats there's good in the bad sometimes. I think I may have found my new favourite author. Bravo!

I did not enjoy this book at all. I found that it dragged a lot. I had an extremely hard time to get into it. It was very predictable

I'm constantly reading. You get your good books, your bad ones and down right horrible ones. Then every once in awhile you come across a great read, ones that stays with you. That is what this book is. I read another of her books and enjoyed it so I downloaded this one and was not disappointed. Great story line and great writing. I have never written a review on a book before but felt compelled to about this one. I definitely recommend you read it.

Best book I've read in so long. I was laughing, crying, scared, happy from chapter to chapter. It's nice to see issues being addressed that aren't usually addressed in many books nowadays

I have no idea why it took me so long to read the series. I absolutely loved every single sentence. The book caputered my heart, I felt every single feeling the characters had. I cried for them, laughed at them but most of all I envied them. Again I say, dont know what took so long. Well done Colleen!!!

I love Colleen Hoover's books but Hopeless is my favourite so far. This was a beautifully written story that had you asking yourself what you would do in the same situation the whole way through. Holder is just someone you fall in love with right away. I couldn't get enough of Sky and Holder and was so happy that there was a second book from Holders point of view. This is a must read book!!

Incredibly written, makes you fall in love with the characters before your heart breaks alongside them. Some plot twists subtly hinted at, others a complete surprise. Gripping from the beginning to the end. Definitely recommended.

Holder! ahh Holder! I live You! you are the greatest protector a girl can ever have and that lucky girl being Sky. Sky is adopted, going to public school for the 1st time since being home schooled and has no tv, computer, phone etc... She has a rough time at school because she already has a label but she is a very strong girl and doesn't let it bother her too much. She bumps into Holder, whose label is BAD boy, at the store and he immediately thinks he knows her and that's where the mystery comes into play. I won't tell you anymore because it's so much better not knowing what's gonna happen! Enjoy... So I loved this LOVE story Holder is honest and swoon worthy and he won't let you down. Sky is strong and they both are very smart for being only seniors especially Holder with all his great words of wisdom and I just love the banter between the two.

This was the first book I read by Colleen Hoover and not only did it get my attention quickly but it put Colleen into one of my top spots for YA authors. The likeability of the characters was immediate and as with all of Colleen's characters I absolutely loved the witty repartee between Sky and Holder. One thing I was really excited about was Sky's strength through the whole book. A problem I have been finding with many YA novels is that the strong female lead is amazing in the beginning and then becomes self conscious and needy once they are with the guys which just leaves me consistently annoyed with them, but that isn't the case with Sky! All in all, this book made me run through the gamut of emotions...I was giddy and excited, I was content, I laughed, I got angry and I most definitely cried. Read it!
