Synopsis

A young boy emerges from life-saving surgery with remarkable stories of his visit to heaven. Heaven Is for Real is the true story of the four-year old son of a small town Nebraska pastor who during emergency surgery slips from consciousness and enters heaven. He survives and begins talking about being able to look down and see the doctor operating and his dad praying in the waiting room. The family didn't know what to believe but soon the evidence was clear. Colton said he met his miscarried sister, whom no one had told him about, and his great grandfather who died 30 years before Colton was born, then shared impossible-to-know details about each. He describes the horse that only Jesus could ride, about how "reaaally big" God and his chair are, and how the Holy Spirit "shoots down power" from heaven to help us. Told by the father, but often in Colton's own words, the disarmingly simple message is heaven is a real place, Jesus really loves children, and be ready, there is a coming last battle.

Faked
April 8th, 2015
This kid admitted, a few months ago now, that he made the whole thing up. This book should not be listed as non-fiction but fiction. It boarders on religious propaganda and before you get all tied up in a not by this heathen and his 'point of view', what if this was a book that had a Jewish or Muslim or Hindu or (add in any religion you wish) message instead of Christianity? How would your view of such a book be once the story teller admitted they made the whole thing up? Would you want it to be sold in what is suppose to be a secular bookstore? To be fair you either pull the book, or add similar books of all religions and give everybody a chance to propagate their beliefs equally. At the very least list it as Fiction.

Heaven Is for Real

This is a very ineresting read. My husband died recently and my sister-in-law suggested that I read this book. I have always believed that there is something after death but was never sure what. This book has offered a little boy's impressions of Heaven. I wonder if an adult would experience the same impressions of Heavven or if Heaven would be presented in a totally different way. An adult has pre-conceived opions and probably different ideas of what Heaven means to them. This book opens the door to other questions about life after death. I really enjoyed this book.

an abusive father who made his son lie for profit
January 19th, 2015
A pandering book that takes advantage of peoples desire for heaven. A false story pushed by a father who took advantage of his son to make money off of other people's hopes.

Heaven is for real????
October 31st, 2014
No stars. Who wrote and published this book. It seems to me it was written to justify and excuse parents beliefs and cover up and hide from their own irresponsible choices made on the child's behalf. It is part of apocalyptic thinking that soothes the souls of citizens whose governments attack and kill other people's innocent and often helpless children, mothers and fathers. Heaven is where we could live if love, compassion, tolerance combined with life, air, water, and mother earth were sacred trusts for future generations. Do not waste your time. Hauntings by James Hollis is a far more worthy choice on salvation and being at peace with your soul.
